WARNING ABOUT MP3 NINJA!

WARNING ABOUT MP3 NINJA! STOLE MY MONEY!!

Well it was bound to happen. I was looking through my online bank account tonight and noticed a charge for $190.00 that I never made. Upon further inspection I noticed it came from a company called ITC. I was lost and confused as to what that could be. All I could think of was that somebody online stole my credit card number.

Then I began to get suspicous. So I took a look at MP3 Ninja's payment page, which I had used to buy credits from only a few days before. And sure enough the payment company they use is called ITC! So it seems that either MP3 Ninja, ITC, or both have used my card number to charge me fraudulent charges. Now I have had to cancel my card number and open a case against ITC. Luckily my bank will re-imburse me the amount. The FBI and INTERPOL will more than likely be contacted regarding this case according to the fraud department at my bank.

So be careful out there. Don't use MP3 Ninja! As a matter of fact I don't think I'm going to use any of these MP3 sites anymore after this. I can't believe this happened!

Bank error

In reply to this letter I wish to notice the following: In January, 2008 the problem when the sum which was raised from users, increased on 0 really took place. (For example 190$ instead of 19$). It was a problem of bank which served us, and it has been solved in 24 hours. To all clients (them was nearby 20) at whom superfluous means have been removed has been made refund. There was no any fact of swindle from mp3ninja.com. I wish remind that at refund situation the return sum could appear on the account of the user in 5-7 days. If your problem has not been solved - address in a support service on an e-mail mp3ninja.com@gmail.com and to you necessarily will help.

illegal

they sell mp3 in illegal way my band is creative commons licensed and they stolen our mp3s why do u think they should not steal to you also?? use itunes or emule ..... legal or illegal not this hybrid way of barely legal shops

Thanks for the heads up

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't heard about anyone else having this kind of problem with any other websites before.

If you get this resolved somehow, we would all be glad to hear what happens.

re: mp3 ninja

well duh! why would you use a credit card and not paypal? they can't charge paypal beyond what you initially authorize.

Ever since I registered with

Ever since I registered with MP3 Ninja I have sent them a series of E-Mails asking a variety of questions and expressing concern when for an entire day I could not download any songs. They NEVER replied to me...not once. Yesterday after finding the charges I sent them another E-Mail detailing the investigation process and again they have yet to contact me. They seem to have no customer service. Then I went a step further and found ITC's website. From there I sent them an E-Mail saying the same thing. Today they replied and here is what the said:

Let us explaing. You have been using our customer Mp3Ninja.com's services and we are the payment service they use. Please let us explaing. You are affected by a major error caused in our bank for one or more of your mp3ninja charges. A series of 500 charges were charged with and extra 0 by our bank. This was a human error and it was corrected as the overcharged amount were Unfortunately you did not receive the notification emails we have sent to you. Please note that you should already have been refunded. Most customers received it already.

Kind regards /ivan ITC

It was nice to finally get an E-Mail response, however NOTHING has been refunded to me. My bank will be crediting this amount to me, but in the process I have had to cancel my card and now I await a new one in the mail.

For those who don't know that is a major pain in the butt to deal with, and now I have to update my card number with a variety of companies who automatically draft from my bank account. I'll keep you updated on any further developments.

Please keep us informed of

Please keep us informed of what happens as I'm using MP3Ninja and this is the first time I have heard of this kind of thing happening. Just to clarify though, am I correct in thinking from your previous posts that the error is with ITC, the payment company, and not with MP3Ninja?

MP3Ninja.com

This site obviously is a total ripoff...I paid $30 US to join, but then could not download anything...it keeps saying 'Waiting for http://secure.mp3sugar.com...35 items remaining'...or something very similar. DO NOT give these people your money...thank goodness it was only $30... I've sent them 3 emails since joining today, and have received no reply whatsoever... I'm thinking that I may as well just go to Wal-Mart and buy the damn CD I want... Sad state of affairs...that's all I have to say...maybe someday 'someone' will open a legitimate site where one can download legal music...........

MP3 Ninja Strangeness

That certainly is strange - especially that you saw something with a reference to mp3sugar.com , which isn't even up anymore.

It would be good to let people know if you get the issue sorted out - I haven't heard of this problem before.

It's a little late, but I would have suggested simply going to Legalsounds instead.  They have never had any issues that I have heard of.

Correction

So sorry...that was a typo...I meant to say 'MP3Ninja.com' in place of MP3Sugar.com...don't know what I was thinking (or if I was)... Anyhow, still have not received a reply from them, nor do I expect to...may as well kiss my $30 goodbye... I used to think everyone has a conscience, but I guess I'm a 'victim of incorrect thinking' once again... Somehow, somewhere, some way...these people will get what's coming to them...and it'll be a lot worse than what I'd do if I met them in person... I feel a BIG lawsuit coming on...if I can find out who owns/runs/supports MP3Ninja.com... The killer part is...I wanted to download music legally...I can do it through a torrent, but ethically, I don't find that the right way to do it...can anyone recommend a REPUTABLE site where I can find good music at a decent price? I would really appreciate it...
